The Avenue Scholars Board of Directors voted July 21 to officially welcome two new members to its ranks.
Ted Bridges, Chief Investment Officer of the Hawks Family Office, and Elisa Davies, General Counsel & Executive Vice President at HDR, will now serve as the two newest members of the Avenue Scholars Board, which includes leaders in business, education, and philanthropy from across the Omaha metro.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Ted and Elisa join our Board,” said Avenue Scholars CEO Lindsay Decker. “For almost 20 years, our Board members have proven to be generous, passionate, and dedicated advocates of our mission, and I have no doubt Ted and Elisa will continue that strong tradition.”
Ted Bridges
Ted Bridges serves as the Chief Investment Officer of the Hawks Family Office. He previously represented the third generation of the Bridges family as the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Bridges Trust. There, he led efforts in the company’s capital market strategy, business development, and client services. Bridges graduated from Dartmouth College with a bachelor’s degree in government and economics and holds a law degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law.
Committed to community engagement, Bridges has served on the boards of other Omaha nonprofits, including the Business Ethics Alliance, the Nebraska Humane Society, and the Abide Network. Additionally, he serves as an elder at Dundee Presbyterian Church.
Elisa Davies
Elisa Davies leads HDR’s global legal team as General Counsel & Executive Vice President of HDR. Earlier in her career, she practiced commercial real estate and corporate law at Koley Jessen and qualified as a Solicitor of England and Wales while at one of the world’s largest business law firms headquartered in the Cayman Islands. More recently she led a diverse team of lawyers in-house at Union Pacific Railroad.
Davies graduated magna cum laude from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in history and political science before earning her law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law. She has served as a board member of the Association for Transportation Law Professionals and the College World Series of Omaha, as well as the Nebraska Humane Society, where, as an animal lover, she has volunteered to be a foster parent for over 25 years. An avid scuba diver, she has also volunteered as a tank cleaner at the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium.
